Andrew M. Cole
Andrew Cole has been practicing law for twenty two years, first in a large corporate law firm in downtown Portland,Oregon, and for the past twenty years in Clackamas County, where he lives with his family. His practice specialties reflect the legal needs of his community, and include personal injury litigation, real estate transactions and litigation, small business formation, counseling and litigation, estate planning and probate litigation, and municipal law. His particular interest and skill is trying civil cases to arbitrators, judges and juries in Oregon state court and in federal court, where he has tried countless cases over the past twenty years. In addition, he briefs and argues appeals in state and federal court, and represents clients in administrative hearings. He has represented several Oregon communities as their City Attorney, and is currently a Judge Pro Tem for the City of Lake Oswego, Oregon.
While Andrew has represented institutions, municipalities and companies of all sizes, he most values serving as counselor and advocate for individuals and small business owners. Over half of his practice involves the representation of individuals injured in automobile collisions and other accidents. It was the success of this plaintiff’s personal injury practice which led him to form a partnership in 2011 with another experienced trial lawyer, Eric Tait. The result is a professional law corporation structured to handle difficult and complex litigation cases, and equipped to bring their clients’ cases to a successful conclusion, in or out of court. The success of the firm is the result and product of many years devoted to earning the respect and trust of the community, lawyers and judges with whom they work.
Andrew Cole grew up in Chicago, Illinois, attended high school in Hudson, Ohio, and graduated from Bowdoin College in Brunswick Maine in 1981 with a degree in history. He moved to Seattle after graduation and worked as a stevedore, deckhand and vessel agent on Seattle’s waterfront before enrolling at the University of Washington School of Law. He was hired as an associate attorney by the Portland, Oregon law firm of Lindsay, Hart, Neil and Weigler before leaving to form his own law firm in 1991. He has been running his own shop ever since.
